A Spankin’ Good Time!

Although Brad refuses to accept this simple fact, he has indeed reached his Mid-Twenties! He turned 24 on Dec. 8th, and what better way to celebrate than to sing the night away with family and friends!

We went to a really neat Japanese restaurant called Sushi Jin, that offers private karaoke rooms where you can eat, karaoke, and of course, embarrass yourself, all at the same time. If you’re looking for a great time accompanied with mediocre food, I recommend giving this place a whirl! You’ll have a Spankin’ Good Time!

Bundle up Tight, Flurries Tonight!

For those of us that live in Texas, having a white Christmas is only a wishful thought that merely presents itself in a dream. As a born and raised Texan, I can count on one hand the number of times it has snowed in my hometown, and I wouldn’t even consider it snow, just sleet with a few flurries, that didn’t even stick to the ground.

As children, Brad and I were very blessed and have countless memories playing in snow, mostly with our families on ski trips. However, we have never experienced the joy of snow together…until now! Who knew our first Christmas season together would bring us one day that we would remember as our “White Christmas.”

On Friday, December 4th, I kid you not; we had fresh powder outside our front door. I was so excited when Brad surprised me by coming home early so we could take pleasure in capturing the moment, and then nestling down to hot chocolate and marshmallows. Take a moment and enjoy our Texas snow – see our pictures below!

To God be the Glory!

It’s been 6 1/2 months since our wedding and we couldn’t be happier! We had an amazing time on our Honeymoon in St. Lucia and are now settled in, enjoying everyday life together!

As of yesterday, I finished my fall semester of school and have only one semester until I finally graduate from Sam Houston in May!

Since the wedding, Brad has continued working for Meriplex as project manager, however, over the past several weeks Brad and I feel that God has called him to serve in a different profession; a Chick-fil-A operator. For those of you that aren’t familiar with Chick-fil-A, their mission statement reads, “We might glorify God by being a faithful steward in all that is entrusted to our care, and that we might have a positive influence on all the people that we might come in contact with." Chick-fil-A isn’t just a quick service restaurant, but it is a company that adheres to faith-based principles and values. Ever since Brad was little, he has loved Chick- fil-A and has aspired to be a Chick-fil- A operator.

Over the summer, Brad and I saw many signs that led us to believe he was being called to do something bigger and better than he had ever expected. At that time Brad and I began praying that God would reveal to us his will for our future and guide us down that path. After weeks of prayer, we felt God calling Brad into the Chick-fil-A business, yet we didn’t know the right time to act. After all, we had just gotten married, moved to Katy, and Brad’s former Chick-fil-A boss/ mentor, Kendrick, was back in The Woodlands. We continued to pray about the situation and later felt a tug on our hearts to give Kendrick a call, just to gather some information. Little did we know, God was already at work in the situation!

Kendrick was in the process of hiring a recruit to join his Chick-fil-A Training Program, and after hearing Brad’s interest, he scheduled to meet with Brad a few days later. Brad ended up talking with Kendrick for about 4 hours, and met with another Chick-fil-A employer the following day. Kendrick later called Brad saying, “The job is yours if you want it!” WOW! Not even a week before, we were waiting patiently for God’s clarification, and just a few days later, Brad was hired and on his way to pursuing his dream job! What an amazing God we have!

Brad will officially start working for Chick-fil-A at the beginning of the New Year. With that in our near future, we will be searching for an apartment closer to Brad’s work, and preparing for the many changes to come! With this new job, there will be many sacrifices for the both of us, yet we trust that God will fill us with His strength and direct our ever step! To God be the Glory!
